Many children grow up in households where Sunday = Race Day and the TV is tuned to whatever channel shows formula 1. As a result of this, many young children catch the racing bug and grow up to be lifelong motorsport fans. (Hiya, Bernie!) Most of these children tend to be boys. But a growing number of them are girls, like myself.
Being a racing nut has left a bit of a mark on my lifestyle. I spend much of my free time watching races, visiting tracks, and talking motorsport. This used to drive my non-racing friends very nearly crazy, because in their eyes my Twitter messages were always filled with total gibberish. It was one of them who first suggested starting a second account, dedicated solely to racing, so all things motorsport would be separated from my daily life. At first I thought it'd be too much of a hassle. So I declined. But when I ran into an annoying man on the internet who told me girls should NOT be talking racing, I changed my mind.
Welcome to the world, @girltalksracing.
